President of Armenia meets Su Hui

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received a delegation led by Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), in Yerevan on Sept 18. 

Su conveyed the warm greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to Khachaturyan. She said that the friendly exchanges between China and Armenia date back a long time, and that the leaders of the two countries announced the establishment of strategic partnership at their recent meeting in Tianjin, China, opening a new chapter in the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Armenia and take the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two countries as an opportunity to promote in-depth and substantive cooperation in various fields, she added. 

Khachaturyan asked Su to convey his warm greetings and best wishes to President Xi, saying Armenia attaches great importance to developing the strategic partnership with China. He pledged active support for the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi, and reaffirmed the country's firm support for the one-China principle. Armenia is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in such areas as politics, economy and trade, education and connectivity, as well as enhance international collaboration within the frameworks such as the United Nations, he added. 

Su led the CPPCC National Committee delegation to visit Armenia upon invitation. During the visit, she also met with President of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan and its Vice-President Hakob Arshakyan.
