An exhibition of fine art and calligraphy marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the China Zhi Gong Party opened at the Capital Museum in Beijing on Sept 18.
Jiang Zuojun, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the China Zhi Gong Party Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Jiang noted that since its founding a century ago, the China Zhi Gong Party has upheld the leadership of the Communist Party of China, standing with the nation and the people through weal and woe. From uniting overseas Chinese in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and contributing to the country's reform and opening-up efforts, to engaging in poverty alleviation and scientific innovation, generations of China Zhi Gong Party members have devoted themselves to the nation's revolution, construction and reform, writing a proud chapter of loyalty and shared commitment, according to Jiang.
Jiang urged members of the China Zhi Gong Party in the cultural sector to take the centenary as a new starting point, nurture their patriotic commitment and use art to record the times, highlight the stories of party members and showcase the country's achievements. He also called on them to make full use of overseas Chinese ties, tell China's stories through artistic expression, and foster greater unity at home and abroad.
After the ceremony, guests toured the exhibition, which features more than 150 works contributed by party members, overseas Chinese communities and artists from across the country. The works, which have diverse themes and forms, reflect the creators' profound love for the motherland and best wishes for the centenary of the China Zhi Gong Party.
