The China Economic and Social Forum 2025 was held on Sept 18 in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province. The forum brought together more than 80 guests from China and abroad for in-depth discussions on deepening exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations and building a community with a shared future for humanity.

Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the China Economic and Social Council, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech.

Wang emphasized the need to safeguard the diversity of civilizations, respect each country's independent choice of social system and development path, strengthen dialogue among civilizations to promote common prosperity, and advance the progress of civilizations to jointly build a community with a shared future for humanity.

China will embrace the world with greater openness, contribute the vitality of its civilization achievements and act as a practitioner of friendly cooperation, a promoter of dialogue among civilizations and a builder of a community with a shared future for humanity, working hand in hand with all nations to create a better future, he said.
