The Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a symposium in Beijing on Aug 27 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War. Bater, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the event and delivered remarks.
Participants in the symposium highlighted the profound historical significance and far-reaching contributions of China's victory in the war. They underscored that it was a great victory of the national spirit with patriotism at its core, a great victory achieved with the Communist Party of China fighting as the central pillar, a great victory fought by the whole nation through solidarity and bravery, and a great victory for the Chinese people, anti-fascist allies and people around the world who fought shoulder-to-shoulder.
The symposium called for promoting the correct view of the history of World War II, carrying forward the great spirit of the Chinese People's War of Resistance, strengthening the sense of community for the Chinese nation and firmly following the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It emphasized the importance of uniting efforts to build a strong nation and achieve national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization.
