From Aug 4 to 6, Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, led a delegation to visit Turkmenistan and participate in the third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries where he delivered remarks. He met with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairperson of the National Assembly of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova during the visit.
In his meeting with Berdimuhamedov, Wang said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Turkmenistan relations have been substantially improved and upgraded to a high level of comprehensive strategic partnership. Wang said the meeting between the two heads of state in June this year laid the foundation and charted the course for future bilateral relations. He added that China is ready to work with Turkmenistan to implement the important consensus reached by both sides, take practical measures to promote the in-depth and solid development of the China-Turkmenistan comprehensive strategic partnership, and jointly deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, so as to brighten the prospects of building a China-Turkmenistan community with a shared future. This will better benefit the people of both countries with fruitful win-win cooperation results, he noted.
Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan-China relations have maintained steady development with close coordination at both bilateral and multilateral levels. He also reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to further elevating the bilateral relations to new heights.
