The general office of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee met on July 29 to review its work in the first half of 2025 and lay out key tasks for the second half. Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Wang noted that since the beginning of the year, the general office of the CPPCC National Committee has studied and implemented the guiding principles of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress and the second and third plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee. They have also carried out the education campaign on implementing the CPC Central Committee's eight-point code on improving conduct and fulfilled the work requirements set by the CPPCC National Committee's leading Party members group, he noted.
By aligning with the central tasks of the CPC and the country, the general office has supported the CPPCC National Committee and its members in performing their duties and advancing development in various affairs, according to Wang, adding that those working at the office have shown increasing motivation, initiative, and creativity, achieving new progress in various aspects of their work.
Looking ahead, Wang emphasized the importance of identifying the key priorities and focus areas of CPPCC work in the new era. He called for high-quality service in organizing major meetings and consultation activities hosted by CPPCC National Committee.
He also stressed the need to consolidate the outcomes of the education campaign on implementing the eight-point code, strengthen Party building, focus on key initiatives and workforce development, and foster unity, a sense of responsibility and perseverance to ensure the successful completion of this year's goals.
