The Standing Committee of the 17th Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP) held its ninth session in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan province, from July 18 to 19.
He Wei, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, addressed the meeting. Yang Zhen, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, presided over the opening meeting and also delivered the closing remarks.
The meeting studied the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee's eight-point code on improving work conduct and integrity and discussed advancing the education campaign on self-improvement.
He Wei emphasized that CPWDP organizations at all levels and members must strengthen their sense of responsibility and urgency in promoting integrity and work style improvement. He urged members to remain clear-headed and committed to these long-term efforts.
The education campaign offers an important opportunity for non-Communist parties to review, examine, and rectify their conduct, He said. He called on the CPWDP to learn from the CPC, uphold the eight-point code, and grasp its core requirements, striving to ensure solid implementation of the campaign and deliver tangible results.
He urged all CPWDP organizations and members to stay focused on long-term goals, take proactive and practical steps to implement tasks with high standards, reinforce political guidance, improve performance in fulfilling duties, and strengthen self-improvement.
