A team from the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) conducted a survey in East China's Jiangsu province from July 7 to 11, which focused on promoting extensive interaction, exchange, and integration of all ethnic groups in the country. The team was led by Bater, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

The team visited rural communities, enterprises, public institutions, cultural venues, schools and religious sites in the cities of Suzhou, Yangzhou and Huai'an, gaining an understanding of the province's efforts to foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and to promote interaction, exchange and integration among all ethnic groups.

The team acknowledged Jiangsu's efforts over recent years in implementing a range of initiatives for ethnic exchange and integration, which have effectively created social conditions for people from all ethnic groups to live, study, work and enjoy themselves together, and yielded notable achievements in promoting ethnic unity and progress.

The team emphasized the importance of further leveraging the CPPCC's role as a specialized consultative body. They called for in-depth research, consultation and democratic oversight on key issues such as improving institutional mechanisms for fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, promoting the population mobility and integrated habitation among various ethnic groups, enhancing the integration of regions with large ethnic populations into the new development paradigm, building a shared cultural home for the Chinese nation, promoting the use of the standard spoken and written Chinese language, and advancing the rule of law in ethnic affairs.

More efforts are needed to continue building consensus and pooling strength to promote extensive, full and in-depth exchanges and integration among all ethnic groups, so as to further unite people of all ethnic groups around the Communist Party of China Central Committee and work together toward advancing Chinese modernization.
