The Standing Committee of the 11th Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) held its 14th meeting in Bijie, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on July 6. 

Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, addressed the meeting. 

At the meeting, the league's major work for the first half of 2025 was reviewed and priorities were outlined for the second half of the year. Progress was reported on work conduct improvement, interim measures for organizational administration of the TDSL were approved, and discussions were held on local implementation of work responsibilities and related education campaigns. 

Su emphasized the importance of upholding the correct political direction and enhancing the league's duty performance by maintaining political integrity, showcasing the party's uniqueness and improving work efficiency. She called for continued advancement in education campaigns to strengthen self-development, and urged high-quality organization of commemorative events marking the 80th anniversaries of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the recovery of Taiwan. The events she suggested include symposiums, exhibitions, theoretical study sessions, cultural performances and art shows. 

Su underscored the need to institutionalize work conduct improvements, making them a consistent part of cadre development and organizational management. She urged rigorous implementation of rectification measures launched during education campaigns to ensure robust institutional frameworks and effective enforcement. 

Highlighting the importance of serving national development priorities, Su called for greater efforts in conducting consultation and making suggestions, as well as in deepening cross-Strait engagement through genuine connections and practical research. The league should strive for more accomplishments in pairing assistance to Hezhang county in Bijie, based on the past two decades of assistance efforts, she added. 

She also emphasized the importance of completing the task of democratic oversight of Yangtze River ecological protection with high quality.
