A team from the Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee visited East China's Zhejiang province from June 30 to July 4 to conduct a survey on regulating enterprise-related law enforcement and supervision and fostering a law-based business environment. The survey was led by He Baoxiang, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee. 

The team visited the cities of Hangzhou, Taizhou and Wenzhou, where they examined the operations of comprehensive administrative law enforcement teams, enterprises, laboratories, characteristic towns and data trading centers. They held extensive discussions with officials from related government departments, business representatives and scientific researchers to gain a detailed understanding of Zhejiang's efforts and progress in regulating enterprise-related law enforcement and strengthening oversight.

The team commended Zhejiang for its proactive explorations and innovations in top-level design, institutional improvement, transformation of government functions and the advancement of digital and intelligent law enforcement supervision, which have resulted in notable progress in building a stable, fair, transparent and foreseeable law-based business environment and supported high-quality economic and social development.

They emphasized that the central authorities have attached great importance to building a law-based business environment, highlighting the critical role of the rule of law in safeguarding business environment. A series of major decisions have been made in this regard and specific arrangements have been adopted to regulate enterprise-related law enforcement and enhance supervision, they noted.

They emphasized the need to focus on pressing issues reflected by enterprises, promote strict, standardized, fair and civilized law enforcement, and reinforce oversight mechanisms, in order to maintain the fair competition order, stabilize market expectations, boost confidence and unleash greater vitality and momentum into economic development.

The CPPCC, as a specialized consultative body, should give full play to its role in supporting high-quality development through high-level performance of its duties, and contribute wisdom and strength to advancing Chinese modernization, they noted.
