A team from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Areas of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee conducted a survey in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region from June 26 to 29, focusing on promoting high-quality agricultural development through the cultivation of new quality productive forces.

The survey was led by Qin Boyong, vice-chairwoman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairwoman of the Central Committee of the China National Democratic Construction Association.

The team visited the cities of Hulunbuir and Chifeng, conducting field studies at highway ports, trade and storage parks, crop and livestock production bases, agricultural processing enterprises and water conservancy projects. They talked with officials from local authorities and grassroots organizations, and farmers and herders to gain a detailed understanding of the region's efforts in agricultural science and technology innovation, improvements in production efficiency and the development of green agriculture.

The team noted that Inner Mongolia has made significant progress in recent years in strengthening technological innovation, promoting green transformation and enhancing industrial integration. These efforts, they said, have effectively driven high-quality development in the farming and animal husbandry sectors with advanced productive forces.

The team emphasized that developing new quality productive forces is an intrinsic requirement and important focus of promoting high-quality development, and advancing agricultural modernization is essential to this goal. The CPPCC, they said, should fully leverage its strengths to contribute to reforming the agricultural sci-tech innovation system, increasing investment in agri-tech, accelerating the upgrading of agricultural machinery and equipment, and reinforcing supply of essential resources such as land, finance, and talent. Particular attention should be paid to addressing the final steps in translating sci-tech achievements into practical applications, they noted.

The team called for enhanced research, inclusive consultation, and stronger public engagement, including "serving the people" activities by CPPCC members, to build consensus and pool wisdom and strength to support local strategies for developing new quality productive forces in agriculture and advance high-quality development in the sector.
