To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Xizang autonomous region, an art exhibition opened at the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) in Beijing on June 22. The exhibition pays tribute to the achievements of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in work related to ethnic affairs and celebrates the majestic panorama of unity and hard work among people of all ethnic groups in China.
The exhibition is divided into four sections and features a range of artistic forms, including Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture and photography. More than 300 pieces are on display, including 19 classic pieces from the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee's collection, nearly 200 pieces from the collection of the NAMOC, two large-scale Chinese paintings newly created by artists organized by the calligraphy and painting office of the CPPCC National Committee and the NAMOC, and 106 classic pieces from Xinjiang and Xizang.
The exhibition is jointly organized by the calligraphy and painting office of the CPPCC National Committee, the NAMOC, the publicity departments of the CPC committees of Xinjiang and Xizang, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Xinjiang, and the Federation of Literary and Art Circles of Xizang.
The exhibition aims to showcase the natural beauty, cultural charm, and the thriving life in Xinjiang and Xizang through exceptional artworks. It also highlights the two regions' remarkable achievements in economic and social development, as well as the promotion of ethnic unity and progress since the founding of the People's Republic of China, especially since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, under the leadership of the Party.
Before the exhibition's opening on June 22, Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee and director of the calligraphy and painting office, met with representatives of the creators. He then toured the exhibition with leading officials of the CPPCC National Committee's General Office and various special committees, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the NAMOC and relevant officials from Xinjiang and Xizang.
The exhibition will run until July 14.
