A team from the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Areas of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) conducted a survey on cultivating new industries and business models in rural areas in Northeast China's Liaoning province from June 15 to 18. The survey was led by Hu Chunhua, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

The team visited a range of rural development sites, including family farms, agricultural cooperatives, agri-product processing workshops, farmland irrigation projects and rural cultural tourism projects, in the cities of Shenyang, Fushun, Benxi and Dandong. They talked with local officials and rural residents, and closely examined how these regions are leveraging their unique strengths to develop specialized industries, integrate the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, and establish benefit-sharing mechanisms to increase farmers' incomes.

The team acknowledged Liaoning's efforts in comprehensively promoting rural vitalization by tapping its cultural and natural resources and developing new rural industries and business models, which yielded fruitful results in advancing county-level economies and increasing local employment for farmer workers.

The team emphasized the need to align thoughts and actions with the decisions and plans of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on the work related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers. They called on CPPCC members to stay true to the body's roles and responsibilities and make targeted proposals on key issues in the development of county-level industries, such as utilizing rural resources, fostering new industries and models, improving the business environment at the county level, refining benefit-sharing mechanisms, and expanding channels for local farmers to increase their incomes. 

The team also highlighted the importance of research-based decision-making and encouraged CPPCC members to deepen their engagement through surveys, policy consultation, and "serving the people" initiatives to contribute to all-round rural vitalization.
