A team from the Committee on Economic Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee conducted a survey in East China's Zhejiang province from June 10 to 13, focusing on optimizing the layout of major productive forces. The team was led by Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
The team visited the cities of Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Ningbo, and Wenzhou, where they toured manufacturing workshops, science and technology innovation platforms, and coordinated industrial development demonstration zones. They talked with local government officials, business leaders, and researchers to gain a comprehensive understanding of Zhejiang's efforts and achievements in fostering industrial clusters and driving innovation through science and technology. The team also visited institutions where CPPCC members work.
The team acknowledged Zhejiang's efforts in thoroughly implementing the central leadership's instructions on developing Zhejiang and striving to cultivate new drivers and advantages for development. By promoting high-quality, integrated deployment of major productive forces, the province is steadily contributing to the advancement of Chinese modernization, they noted.
The team emphasized that optimizing the layout of major productive forces is a crucial measure for promoting high-quality development and building a new development paradigm. They called for a strategic, long-term approach that strengthens regional coordination, integrates technological and industrial innovation, aligns productivity planning with national strategies, accelerates the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and fosters strategic emerging and future-oriented industries. These efforts aim to build a complementary, high-quality economic and territorial structure that lays a solid foundation for advancing Chinese modernization, they added.
They also highlighted the importance of leveraging the unique strengths of the CPPCC by conducting in-depth research and offering informed policy recommendations to support the implementation of decisions and plans set forth by the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
