MONTEVIDEO -- He Baoxiang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has called for building a stronger China-Latin America community with a shared future.

China attaches great importance to relations with Mexico and Uruguay, said He, who led a delegation on visits to Mexico and Uruguay from May 21 to 27.

China stands ready to work with the two countries to implement the important consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the leaders of the two countries, as well as the outcomes of the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC (the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) Forum, and deepen practical cooperation across various fields, He said.

The CPPCC stands ready to contribute to such efforts, he added.

During his stay in Mexico, He met with the president of the Senate, Gerardo Fernandez Norona, and vice-presidents of the Chamber of Deputies, Dolores Padierna, Kenia Lopez and Luisa Mendoza, among others.

In Uruguay, He held talks with President Yamandu Orsi, Vice-President and President of the General Assembly and the Senate Carolina Cosse, and President of the House of Representatives Sebastian Valdomir.

Officials from the two countries expressed their understanding of and support for China's core interests and major concerns, and voiced their willingness to work with China to implement the meeting's outcomes and further develop bilateral and Latin America-China relations, so as to better benefit the peoples of both sides.
