A team from the Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited Northwest China's Shaanxi province from May 20 to 24 to survey local efforts on optimizing allocation of educational resources. The survey was led by Zhu Yongxin, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the China Association for Promoting Democracy Central Committee.

The team visited a wide range of educational institutions in Xi'an and Baoji, including universities, primary and secondary schools, vocational schools, special education schools, international schools, and childcare institutions. They gathered detailed insights into the allocation of educational resources across different educational levels and school types in the region.

The team emphasized that optimizing the allocation of educational resources across regions is not only about education, but a strategic matter about social equity, coordinated regional development, and the country's modernization drive. It is important to adhere to a people-centered approach and the equity-oriented baseline in educational resource allocation, and promote well-rounded human development, they noted.

The team called for building a well-structured and more efficient mechanism for allocating educational resources, aiming for systematic optimization of educational resources across regions within a broader framework. They also stressed the importance of proactively responding to demographic shifts, planning ahead for resource deployment, expanding supply through government-society collaboration, and accelerating the development of digital and intelligent approaches to resource distribution.

The team underlined the role of the CPPCC as a specialized consultative body in contributing insights and proposals toward optimizing allocation of educational resources and supporting the realization of Chinese modernization.

During the visit, a subset of the team also delivered a science popularization lecture in Baoji.
