Ho Hau Wah attends BEYOND Expo in Macao

The 5th BEYOND International Technology Innovation Expo (BEYOND Expo) opened in Macao on May 21, bringing together more than 800 Chinese and foreign technology companies to showcase cutting-edge achievements and industry development trends.

Ho Hau Wah, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, along with Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Sam Hou Fai, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR Zheng Xincong, and Commissioner of the Commissioner's Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Macao SAR Liu Xianfa, attended the opening ceremony.

The expo features a Global Investment Summit, AI Summit, BGlobal Summit, SportsTech Forum, International Industrial Design Forum, Japan Tech Forum and Asia-Europe Tech Forum, which are designed to foster in-depth dialogue across fields and regions.

Jason Ho, co-founder of the BEYOND Expo, highlighted the huge potential represented by Asian companies in his opening address, saying this year's event attracted over 500 startups and nearly 100 soon-to-be unicorn companies from Asia to showcase their latest products and services.

"We have many startups from the Chinese mainland at this year's expo, and we would like them to be recognized by a larger audience, allowing the world to see Chinese and Asian innovation," said Lu Gang, co-founder of the BEYOND Expo.

The BEYOND Expo, organized by the Macau Technology Association, was inaugurated in 2021. Its goal is to serve as a platform to showcase global technological innovations and to foster technological upgrades and innovation culture in Asia. The expo runs until May 24.
