A team from the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) conducted a survey in East China's Zhejiang province and Shanghai municipality from May 10 to 16, focusing on facilitating the deep integration of culture and technology. Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society, led the team.

The team visited the cities of Hangzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou, and Shanghai, carrying out on-site surveys at cultural communities, tech-enabled cultural enterprises, art institutions, film studios, cultural heritage sites, and museums. They also talked with local government officials and representatives from various sectors to gain a comprehensive understanding of local progress in integrating culture with technology.

The team emphasized the need to follow the advances in both the digital industry and the digital transformation of traditional industries, and to accelerate the development of new forms of cultural industries, aiming to enhance their quality and core competitiveness. They called for the establishment of effective mechanisms for culture-tech fusion, stronger policy support and guidance, and the creation of innovation communities that bring together talent, technology, and capital across both sectors. The team also stressed the importance of intellectual property protection to ensure the healthy, sustainable development of the cultural industry.

The team underscored the unique role of the CPPCC in boosting cultural prosperity and building China into a great power in culture by rallying the support of the people, building greater consensus, and pooling wisdom and strength.
