Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team of non-Communist Party of China members on a survey tour to South China's Hainan province from May 6 to 10. The survey focused on enhancing the quality and efficiency of modern service industries.

The team went to the cities of Haikou, Wenchang, Qionghai and Sanya, where they visited industrial parks, enterprises, hospitals, research and development bases, and commercial centers. They talked with government officials, experts, scholars, business representatives, and residents to gain a comprehensive understanding of Hainan's efforts in modern service industry development.

The team acknowledged the province's coordinated efforts in areas such as modern commerce, cultural tourism, professional services, and the marine economy, all of which have contributed to the steady development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.

Stressing the crucial role of modern service industries in driving high-quality development, the team said Hainan's geographical advantages and favorable policies should be fully utilized to develop distinctive industries, cultivate specialized talents, and foster new quality productive forces tailored to local conditions. They also called for deeper integration of modern services with advanced manufacturing and modern agriculture, continuously improving supply quality and expanding service-related consumption, and further optimizing the business environment to support high-level opening-up. 

In addition, the team highlighted the need to give full play to the unique strengths of the CPPCC, rallying support of the people, building greater consensus, and pooling wisdom and strength to build confidence in development and generate strong synergy for advancing the modern service sector.
