Wang Dongfeng visits CAS Institute of Psychology

Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), conducted a study visit to the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Institute of Psychology on April 23. 

The visit, which focused on advancing basic mental health research and application demonstration in line with the national needs, included discussions with CPPCC members and psychological science researchers.

Wang toured the institute's history exhibition hall and visited key laboratories for human olfaction, electroencephalography, eye movement, near-infrared spectroscopy and dream studies. He listened to a briefing on the development of the national key laboratories in this field and the institute's latest progress in scientific research, as well as viewpoints from attending CPPCC members.

Participants emphasized the importance of fully studying and implementing the guiding principles of the latest sessions of the National People's Congress and the CPPCC National Committee to support the Healthy China initiative through high-level psychological research. 

They stressed the need to uphold the correct political direction, ground scientific work in China's social realities and cultural heritage, deepen reform of the scientific and technological system, and pursue major breakthroughs in research paradigms.

They further highlighted the unique role of CPPCC members, urging them to align their expertise with the priorities of the CPC and the government, respond to development needs and public expectations. The CPPCC members pledged to build consensus, engage in deliberation and consultation on further deepening reform comprehensively and advancing Chinese modernization, and perform their duties to a high standard to contribute to national rejuvenation.
