The third symposium on rural vitalization and development was held in Yichang, Central China's Hubei province, from March 23 to 24. Wang Guangqian, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League (CDL), addressed the event.

Noting that cultural vitalization is a major part of the rural vitalization strategy, Wang acknowledged the CDL's efforts in leveraging its expertise to promote rural cultural vitalization in recent years as well as significant progress it has achieved. He highlighted the importance of new quality productive forces in driving rural vitalization, and stressed the need to make cultural vitalization a central focus of the league's efforts in this area. He called for in-depth research and policy recommendations on key issues and further promotion of the "Preserving Rural Heritage" initiative. He also urged CDL members, particularly educators, to use their expertise to cultivate modern rural cultural talents who love the land, are technologically savvy, and are committed to cultural inheritance.

Wang encouraged attending experts and scholars to explore practical approaches for integrating new quality productive forces into rural cultural vitalization, thereby fostering the prosperity of rural culture.

At the event, Xie Jingrong, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and vice-chairman of the CDL Central Committee, announced the recipients of outstanding paper awards. A total of 134 papers were submitted for the symposium, with 38 selected as outstanding contributions.

The symposium was hosted by the Social Service Department of the CDL Central Committee and the Hubei Provincial Committee of the CDL. It brought together representatives from provincial-level organizations of the league, special committees of the CDL Central Committee, outstanding paper authors,  CDL members from Hubei, and participants in the concurrent rural vitalization training program.
