China Institute of Theory on the CPPCC holds council meeting in Beijing

The fourth Council of the China Institute of Theory on the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened its second meeting in Beijing on March 11. 

The meeting focused on studying and implementing the guiding principles of the latest sessions of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) and the 14th CPPCC National Committee, summarizing the institute's work in 2024 and outlining key tasks for 2025. 

Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee and president of the institute, addressed the meeting. 

Wang acknowledged the institute's work in implementing the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the following plenary sessions of the CPC Central Committee, achieving solid progress in theoretical studies, and ensuring smooth leadership transition and further organizational development. 

He emphasized that 2025 is the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and a crucial year for comprehensively deepening reforms. He called for maintaining the correct political orientation in theoretical research, focusing on key areas to produce high-quality research outcomes, and leveraging the expertise of council members in interpreting the Party's new theories to enhance the depth and impact of research. 

The meeting also reviewed and approved the 2024 work report and the key tasks for 2025. 

Prior to the meeting, Wang presided over the second meeting of the fourth Standing Council of the institute to prepare the documents.
