The second session of the sixth China Economic and Social Council (CESC) was held in Beijing on March 10. Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), addressed the meeting. 

Wang, also chairman of the CESC, called for thorough study and implementation of the guiding principles of the latest sessions of the National People's Congress and the  CPPCC National Committee. He emphasized the need to fully leverage the council's role as a think tank to better support the Communist Party of China and the government in scientific decision-making and effective policy implementation. He urged the council to actively engage in international exchanges to contribute to the country's overall diplomatic efforts, and stressed the need to fulfill responsibilities with dedication and ensure effective implementation. 

The meeting reviewed and approved the work report of the CESC Standing Council.
