Zhu Yongxin leads survey on AI empowered education reform in Beijing

A team from the Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee visited Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and TAL Education Group on Feb 25 for a survey on how artificial intelligence (AI) is empowering education reform. 

Zhu Yongxin, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of China Association for Promoting Democracy, led the team.

A symposium was held during the survey with representatives from relevant departments. 

The team noted that, currently, AI is profoundly reshaping the form and model of education, presenting both multiple challenges as well as opportunities for education reform. They emphasized the necessity of  exploring new initiatives for the high-quality development of education in the AI era and provide new solutions to harness AI for education reform.

The team further emphasized the need to focus on major issues in education in the new era, such as how AI can further promote balanced educational development, how to promote pattern changes in teaching activities, and how to advance personalized educational practices, in proactive practices, systematic research and summarization of experiences in the education sector, to contribute to the building of an education power, as well as exploring new areas and shaping new advantages for development.
