Zhu Yongxin, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-chairman of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) Central Committee, led a team to Bijie city in Southwest China's Guizhou province from Feb 18 to 19 to conduct a survey on the party's assistance initiatives for the city. They also held a symposium on this topic during the survey.
The team visited hospitals, primary schools, kindergartens, neighborhood communities, colleges and the Bijie Kaiming Art Museum on related projects, carrying out in-depth inspections and discussions.
Zhu said that assisting Bijie in building a high-quality demonstration zone for implementing the new development philosophy is both a political responsibility and a long-term task for the CAPD. He acknowledged the CAPD Central Committee's efforts in mobilizing resources to carry out a series of assistance programs in areas such as industry, education, culture, healthcare, and public welfare.
To improve the assistance work, Zhu stressed the importance of addressing fundamental, overarching, and policy-related issues in the region's primary education, and proposing and implementing targeted assistance measures, so as to fully tap the leading role of education in the region's development.
He also highlighted the need for continued efforts in assisting Jinsha county in Bijie city, focusing on collaboration, innovation on work mechanisms, and targeted practices. Special attention should be given to projects under the Kaiming initiative to enhance the visibility and impact of the assistance initiatives, while also strengthening publicity efforts, he added.
