Jiang Zuojun, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee and chairman of the China Zhi Gong Party Central Committee, attended a meeting in Bijie, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Feb 19 to discuss the party's work in supporting rural vitalization in the city.
At the meeting, Jiang urged entrepreneurs affiliated to the party to align thoughts and action with the central leadership's instructions on developing the private sector, and contribute to the all-round rural vitalization, coordinated regional development, and improvement of people's livelihoods.
Jiang noted the importance of recognizing the significance of rural vitalization, particularly with regard to issues related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers. He called for continued enhancement in effectiveness of rural vitalization efforts in Bijie, tailoring assistance efforts to address the region's evolving needs at different stages.
More efforts are needed to transform Bijie's close connection with overseas Chinese and professional advantages into tangible contributions that can support the region's high-quality development and elevate the well-being of its residents, he said.
Pairing assistance platforms should be built to encourage entrepreneurs to play an active part in rural vitalization efforts and foster talents in the area, Jiang noted. Additionally, Jiang called on organizations at all levels of the party and its members to shoulder the responsibility of rural assistance as a key task in their duty performance.
During the stay in Bijie, Jiang also visited the Qixingguan District Zhi Gong Experimental School affiliated to Shanghai Normal University, and the Bijie Science and Technology Museum to survey the assistance work.
