CPPCC’s Committee on Foreign Affairs holds plenary meeting in Beijing

The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held its third plenary meeting in Beijing on Jan 16. The meeting reviewed the committee's work in 2024 and discussed plans for 2025. CPPCC National Committee vice-chairmen Mu Hong and Jiang Zuojun addressed the meeting.

The meeting acknowledged the committee's work in 2024 in implementing the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the second and third plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and in following the work requirements of the CPPCC National Committee. The committee provided in-depth consultations and deliberation of State affairs with focus on opening-up, conducted thorough research on international issues, and leveraged its unique advantages to engage in international exchanges. Through those efforts, the committee achieved fruitful results in telling stories about China's people-centered democracy, while making positive contributions to uniting hearts, building consensus, and gathering wisdom and strength for advancing Chinese modernization, according to the meeting.

The meeting emphasized that, in 2025, the committee must uphold the overall leadership of the CPC, align efforts with the nation's central tasks and the overall work relating to foreign affairs, and diligently perform its duties, in a bid to make new contributions to building a great country and rejuvenating the nation by advancing Chinese modernization.
