The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) announced on Jan 2 that a total of 60 proposals, including one on accelerating the development of the low-altitude economy, had been selected as the excellent proposals of 2024.

The annual selection of excellent proposals is based on the regulations on proposal work of the CPPCC National Committee and a trial guideline on excellent proposal evaluation, with around one percent of the total number of proposals submitted annually making it on to the final list.

The Committee on Proposals of the CPPCC National Committee took into consideration recommendations from proposal handling units and the quality of the proposals, and discussed and reviewed the proposals at its chairperson's meeting and plenary meeting before selecting the excellent proposals.

The 60 selected proposals are closely related to the central work of the Communist Party of China and the country, covering economic, political, cultural, social and eco-environmental fields of the Five-sphere Integrated Plan for building socialism with Chinese characteristics. 

Among them, 16 were collective proposals from the central committees of non-Communist parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, relevant people's organizations, and participating groups and special committees of the CPPCC National Committee, accounting for 26.7 percent of the total. Forty-four proposals were submitted by individual CPPCC members from 22 participating groups, accounting for 73.3 percent of the total. Twenty-nine of the 60 excellent proposals were chosen as major proposals of the year for 2024 by the CPPCC National Committee, accounting for 48.3 percent of the total. 

These excellent proposals played a positive role in serving the country's scientific and democratic decision-making and in promoting the implementation of relevant work.
