A thematic seminar for private entrepreneurs on studying and implementing the guiding principles of this year's Central Economic Work Conference was held in Beijing from Dec 19 to 21. 

Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

Shi emphasized that entrepreneurs from the private sector should study and implement the guiding principles of the conference, have a correct understanding of the present economic situation, and maintain confidence and firm strategic resolve in development. Private entrepreneurs should align their thinking and action with the CPC Central Committee's scientific assessment on the current economic situation as well as its decisions and planning thereof, and contribute to the building of a strong country and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese modernization, he said.

Shi urged private entrepreneurs to further study the CPC's theories on innovation, adhere to innovation-driven development, accelerate the establishment of a modern corporate system, and take the lead in fulfilling corporate social responsibilities, in a bid to promote employment stability and increase income. They should also practice the cordial and clean relationship between government and business, and strive for the healthy development of the non-public sector and people working in the sector, he said.

The seminar was co-hosted by the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. More than 80 private entrepreneurs from across the country participated in the event. 

Officials from the Office of the Central Financial Commission, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Commerce gave lectures, and officials from relevant departments participated in group discussions.
