The Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a symposium in Beijing on Dec 19, focusing on the CPPCC's work to promote exchange and integration among ethnic groups. Bater, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting.
It was noted that, in 2024, the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs effectively mobilized members of CPPCC participating groups of ethnic minorities and religious circles to take part in activities promoting exchange and integration among ethnic groups, a part of the “serving the people” initiative of the CPPCC National Committee. As a result of these efforts, such activities have become more distinctive and diverse in form, and achieved tangible results.
The meeting emphasized the importance of upholding the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), serving the people, and focusing on forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation. CPPCC members were encouraged to act as promoters of CPC policies, defenders of the people's interests, and facilitators of social harmony, contributing wisdom and strength to building a strong country and advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese modernization.
The meeting called for efforts to educate and guide people of all ethnic groups to align their thoughts and actions with the CPC Central Committee's scientific judgment of the current situation and its strategic decisions, to contribute suggestions to advancing Chinese modernization and achieving common prosperity for all ethnic groups, and to foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
As of the end of this year, the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs has carried out 19 activities promoting exchange and integration among ethnic groups, with a total of 253 CPPCC members participating.
