The third plenary session of the 17th Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP) opened in Beijing on Dec 17. The meeting reviewed the 2024 work reports of the Standing Committee and the Internal Supervision Committee of the 17th CPWDP Central Committee.

He Wei, chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, delivered the 2024 work report on behalf of the standing committee, while the opening meeting was chaired by Yang Zhen, executive vice-chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee.

He Wei noted that over the past year, the CPWDP has made progress in ideological and political work by carrying out discipline education, conducted high-quality democratic supervision to facilitate the implementation of major work, and offered social services to enhance the people’s well-being, with duty performance capacity and self-development significantly improved.

Going into 2025, he urged the CPWDP to make continued efforts to implement the three core missions of the party, playing a greater role in uniting people and gathering strength, performing its functions to serve the overall national interests, and advancing self-development while upholding its fine traditions.
