The third plenary session of the 13th Central Committee of the China Democratic League (CDL) opened in Beijing on Dec 12. Ding Zhongli, chairman of the CDL Central Committee, delivered the work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 13th CDL Central Committee. Wang Guangqian, executive vice-chairman of the CDL Central Committee, presided over the opening meeting.
Ding said that over the past year, the CDL has made new progress in Party education and publicity campaigns. CDL organizations at all levels have enhanced the quality of suggestions by expanding cooperation, innovating working mechanisms, and conducting in-depth research, according to Ding. They have completed the task of democratic supervision over the protection of the Yangtze River’s ecological environment in Yunnan province, and have also contributed their expertise to rural vitalization efforts in key areas of pairing assistance, he noted. Additionally, the CDL has advanced organizational and administrative development, with significant progress achieved across all areas of work, Ding said.
Going into 2025, Ding emphasized the importance of continuing the CDL's fine traditions while enhancing self-improvement. He called on CDL organizations at all levels to focus on the goals and tasks of advancing Chinese modernization, further deepen reforms comprehensively, and improve the effectiveness of duty performance.
The meeting reviewed the work reports of the Standing Committee and the Internal Supervision Committee of the 13th CDL Central Committee.
