The third plenary session of the 15th Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) opened in Beijing on Dec 11. The meeting reviewed the work report of the Standing Committee of the 15th CAPD Central Committee.
Cai Dafeng, chairman of the CAPD Central Committee, delivered the work report on behalf of the standing committee, and Zhu Yongxin, executive vice-chairman of the CAPD Central Committee, presided over the opening meeting.
In his report, Cai highlighted the accomplishments the CAPD has made over the past year, and praised the standing committee's efforts to strengthen shared beliefs and self-development. The CAPD also stayed focused on providing constructive suggestions and fostering consensus, showcasing the efficacy of China's new type of political party system, he said.
Cai outlined the CAPD’s key tasks for 2025, including fully implementing the plans of the CAPD Central Committee, advancing the annual work themed on the history of the organization, and strengthening conduct discipline and capacity building.
He also emphasized the importance of improving the quality of suggestions, expanding social services, bolstering public recognition of the association, deepening overseas engagement, and supporting the patriotic united front, to strive for new achievements in the CAPD's work in the new era.
