The Committee on Proposals of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held its fourth plenary session on Dec 6 to review the year's work and make plans for 2025. Yang Zhen, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting.
The meeting highlighted the achievements of the Committee on Proposals in 2024, featuring continuous improvements in proposal quality, strengthened supervision of proposal handling, enhanced institutional mechanisms and more focused work priorities.
In 2025, the committee will further enhance its foundational role as a special committee of the CPPCC National Committee, improve the quality and effectiveness of its performance, and strive to achieve new breakthroughs in proposal-related work, the meeting pointed out.
Committee members as well as representatives from proposal-handling departments such as the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Education shared their insights during the meeting.
The meeting also reviewed documents that included a report on proposal-related work since the second session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee and the shortlist of outstanding proposals for 2024.
