Yang Zhen, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended and addressed the opening ceremony of the 17th China-Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Business Summit in Managua, Nicaragua, during his visit to the country from Nov 17 to 19.

Yang said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-proposed China-LAC community with a shared future, and that China-LAC relations have entered a new era of equality, mutual benefit, innovation, openness, and more benefits for the people. China is ready to work with Latin America to further advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, promote the building of a China-LAC community with a shared future, and jointly create a better future, he added.

Yang visited the China-LAC trade and investment expo and attended the flag handover ceremony of the summit.

During his visit, Yang also met with Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, Vice-President Rosario Murillo, and Nicaragua's Presidential Advisor for Investment and International Cooperation Laureano Ortega.
