The International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) held a plenary conference in Shanghai on Nov 6. Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, delivered a speech at the event.

Wang, also chairman of the China Economic and Social Council, highlighted China's commitment to building a community with a shared future for mankind, and noted that the Belt and Road Initiative has garnered active participation from over three-quarters of countries in the world and dozens of international organizations. He also underscored the global resonance of the China-proposed Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative.

The China Economic and Social Council will practice the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and enhance cooperation with member organizations of the AICESIS, to contribute to global peace and development, Wang said.

Delegates, observers and relevant partner representatives from 25 countries and regions, totaling 81 participants, attended the meeting.
