Members of the Chairperson's Council Meeting of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee conducted a study survey at the Fengtai campus of Minzu University of China in Beijing on Nov 4.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the event.

Members of the council were briefed on the university's history and educational practices. They also visited a research base focused on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and exhibitions on the history of exchanges and integration among ethnic groups. 

Following the visit, they held discussions with participating CPPCC members, university leadership and faculty representatives.

Participants stressed the importance of upholding the Party's leadership over work related to ethnic affairs and fulfilling their duties to foster a sense of community for the Chinese nation.

They called for strengthening theoretical research, interpretation and publicity on the history of the Chinese nation and a sense of community for the Chinese nation to contribute to the formation of China's independent systems of historical materials, discourses and theoretical studies on the community for the Chinese nation.

They urged further efforts in research, consultation and recommendations centering on key issues of advancing the building of the community for the Chinese nation to support the implementation of the Party's decisions and plans on ethnic affairs.

Other CPPCC National Committee leaders, including Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, as well as vice-chairpersons Hu Chunhua, Shen Yueyue, Wang Yong, Bater, Mu Hong, Xian Hui, Wang Dongfeng, Jiang Zuojun, Wang Guangqian, Zhu Yongxin, and Yang Zhen, also participated in the study survey.
