Zhu Yongxin leads education survey in Beijing

A team from the Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited the Chaoyang campus of the high school affiliated to Renmin University of China in Beijing on Oct 12. Zhu Yongxin, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the China Association for Promoting Democracy Central Committee, led the team on this education survey.

The team visited the school's history museum, learning about the school's development, teaching staff, curriculum system and academic research initiatives, and engaged in in-depth discussions with teachers.

Noting the foundational significance of education in building a great country and rejuvenating the nation, the team stressed the need to accelerate the building of a high-quality education system to promote the high-quality and balanced development of education, and called for comprehensive education reforms to explore new practices in nurturing top-tier innovative talents.

It is also important to prioritize the capacity building of teachers as a fundamental task in building a strong nation in education, according to the team. Efforts should be made to promote the spirit of educational pioneers and to foster a high-quality and professional teaching team characterized by strong ethics, excellent skills, well-balanced structure and vitality, the team noted.
