Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with a group of senior scholars of the Dongfang Scholarship program during their visit to the CPPCC National Committee in Beijing on Sept 29. 

Wang gave the scholars a rundown on the guiding principles of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the meeting celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the CPPCC, as well as an introduction to the CPPCC system.  

More than 60 senior visiting scholars from 51 countries attended the event.
