CPPCC National Committee leadership conducts learning survey at internet security company

Members of the Chairperson's Council of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited 360 Digital Security Group, a Chinese cybersecurity company based in Beijing, on Sept 11. 

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, took part in the visit. 

The survey team listened to a briefing from Zhou Hongyi, a member of the CPPCC National Committee and chairman of 360 Digital Security Group, on the company's development and strategic initiatives. They also visited the company's showcase center to gain insights into its work in advancing cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI) development. 

Afterwards, the CPPCC National Committee leadership held a discussion with participating CPPCC members and representatives from the company. They said that, since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee has attached great importance to work related to cybersecurity and digital development, with historic achievements yielded in this regard. They called for thorough implementation of the directives set out at the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee on strengthening China's cybersecurity systems, focusing on key issues in areas such as AI, the digital economy and data security. Efforts should be made to better support the implementation of reforms in the cybersecurity and information sectors thorough investigation and research, active consultation and offering suggestions, they noted. 

Entrepreneurs and scientists among CPPCC members should leverage their expertise to actively support the development of cybersecurity and information technology, advance independent innovation, focus on breakthroughs in critical core technologies and promote the transformation of scientific achievements in a bid to build China into a country with strong cyber strength, they added. 

Those attending the survey included Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, and CPPCC National Committee vice-chairpersons Shen Yueyue, Wang Yong, Zhou Qiang, Gao Yunlong, Xian Hui, Wang Dongfeng, Qin Boyong, Zhu Yongxin and Yang Zhen.
