The tenth joint meeting of the chairpersons of the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held in Shijiazhuang, North China's Hebei province, from Sept 2 to 3. The focus of the meeting was on strengthening industrial collaboration between the three regions to promote the construction of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei pilot demonstration zone for Chinese modernization.
Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, addressed the gathering.
Wang noted that the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has achieved significant progress over the past decade, and has entered a critical stage of deeper integration. It is essential to leverage the unique resources and strengths of each area, promote industrial collaboration in key sectors with complementary advantages, and strive to build the region into a pilot demonstration zone for Chinese modernization, he said.
Wang called for dedicated and united efforts to push coordinated development to new heights and achieve further success.
He also highlighted the importance of improving the joint meeting mechanism among the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei committees of the CPPCC, deepening cooperative consultation, fostering exchange, and pooling wisdom and strength from the CPPCC to advance the high-quality development of the region.
Prior to the meeting, Wang conducted a field survey in Hebei, including visits to the planning exhibition hall and intercity station dispatch command center of Xiong’an New Area, an ecological dredging project at Baiyangdian Lake, and Great Wall Motor Co Ltd.
Wang also visited other members of the CPPCC National Committee who participated in the joint meeting.
