China will staunchly adhere to international economic and trade rules and steadily expand institutional opening-up, in order to develop new institutions for a higher-standard open economy and translate its vast market into a significant opportunity for the world, a senior official said on Friday.
Han Wenxiu, executive deputy director of the office of the Central Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs, made the comments in regards to the reform priorities adopted at the just concluded third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
China will enhance unilateral opening up to the least developed countries, Han said, adding that well-paced expansion of market access in goods, services, capital and labor, among other areas, will be pushed ahead.
Systems that facilitate the entry, residence, healthcare and payment convenience for overseas individuals living in China will also be improved, Han said.
Efforts to promote major landmark projects and small yet impactful projects related to people's livelihoods will be coordinated, and high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative will be advanced, Han said.
