A team from the Committee on Proposals of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee conducted a survey in Northeast China's Jilin province from June 24 to 28, aiming to facilitate the transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological outcomes, one of the key proposals submitted to this year's session of the CPPCC National Committee. 

The team, headed by Yang Zhen, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, went to the cities of Changchun, Jilin and Songyuan, where they visited research institutes and universities, large State-owned enterprises that specialize in equipment manufacturing, research and development of new materials, and agricultural science and technology, and specialized and sophisticated private enterprises. The team also visited intermediary service agencies and exchanged views with local officials, university leaders, scientists and entrepreneurs to learn about the latest progress in promoting transformation and industrialization of sci-tech achievements, in a bid to help increase the efficiency of the handling of the proposal.

The team said that the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has consistently placed innovation in a core position in the country's overall modernization drive, and has made sci-tech self-reliance and self-improvement a strategic support for national development since the 18th CPC National Congress. They highlighted the importance of advancing the transformation of sci-tech outcomes, and taking multiple measures to turn them into real productive forces at a faster pace. They encouraged innovation, calling for refined policies to stimulate the vitality of production factors, open up new conversion channels and optimize the service system.

They also called on CPPCC members to leverage their talent and connections, to gather wisdom, formulate good strategies and build consensus to assist in the country's transformation and industrialization of sci-tech achievements.
