A team of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) conducted a survey in East China's Zhejiang province from June 24 to 28, focusing on the province's exploration of developing religions in the Chinese context.

The team visited religious organizations, religious activity venues, and religious schools in the cities of Shaoxing, Ningbo, and Zhoushan, where they had in in-depth discussions with officials from local united front work and ethnic and religious affairs departments, as well as representatives of religious circles and faculty and students from religious schools. A symposium was held to better understand local work in the related field and offer opinions and suggestions.

Acknowledging the progress Zhejiang province made in the work related to religious affairs, the team lauded the province's innovative practices and measures in religious work, especially in such areas as political guidance, cultural integration, talent cultivation, international exchanges, and digital empowerment in managing religious affairs.

The team called for increasing efforts to thoroughly implement the guiding principles of the national conference on work related to religious affairs, support the development of interpretations of religious doctrines that conform to the requirements of China's contemporary development and fine traditional Chinese culture, and cultivate more high-quality talents in a bid to continue developing religions in the Chinese context.
