CPPCC hosts science lecture on evolution and future of humanity

The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a well-attended science popularization lecture on evolution at the China Soong Ching Ling Science and Culture Center for Young People in Beijing on June 26. Mu Hong and Jiang Zuojun, vice-chairmen of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the event. 

Zhou Zhonghe, a member of the CPPCC National Committee's Standing Committee and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave the lecture on evolution theory and the future of humanity, touching on the development and wide-ranging impact of evolutionary biology. Zhou also shared with the audience some of his thoughts on the development of human civilization. 

Over 500 people, including members of CPPCC national and local committees, science workers and researchers, and representatives of students and teachers, attended the event. 

The science popularization lecture is an important part of the "serving the people" activities of the CPPCC National Committee. It leverages the professional expertise of CPPCC members to contribute to economic and social development and build a society that values and respects science.
