Jiang Zuojun leads inspection in Fujian on development of core area of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road

The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee conducted an inspection in East China's Fujian province from June 17 to 21 on the development of the core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Jiang Zuojun, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, headed the inspection team. 

The team, composed of non-Communist Party of China (CPC) members, said that the Belt and Road Initiative, proposed after the 18th National Congress of the CPC, is a significant milestone in the history of human development and has achieved fruitful results. They called for further efforts to implement the major outcomes of the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation so as to contribute to the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. 

During their visits to local industrial parks, production bases, ports and enterprises in the cities of Fuzhou, Ningde, Quanzhou and Zhangzhou, the team members learned about the achievements made by Fujian in promoting the construction of the core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. They will summarize Fujian's practical experience and measures, conduct in-depth studies on key issues in promoting the high-quality development of the Belt and Road, propose suggestions and build consensus to facilitate the construction of the core area of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road in Fujian, the team said. 

The team also visited a poverty reduction exhibition in Ningde and conducted surveys at a local new energy enterprise where they exchanged views with the enterprise’s managers on their development strategies for the new energy industry.
