The Standing Committee of the 15th Central Committee of the Jiusan Society held its sixth meeting in Harbin, Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, from May 30 to 31. 

The theme of the meeting was set as studying and implementing the guiding principles of the document issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on upholding, developing and improving China's new political party system in the new era, and promoting the implementation of the Jiusan Society's five-year plan for self-improvement. 

Wu Weihua, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee and chairman of the Jiusan Society Central Committee, attended the meeting and delivered remarks.

Wu said that since entering the new era, the CPC Central Committee has incorporated the adherence to and improvement of the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system led by the CPC into the Party's basic strategy. 

The compilation and issuance of the five-year plan for self-improvement of the Jiusan Society (2023-27) was an important measure taken by the Jiusan Society Central Committee to implement the guiding principles of the Party's relevant documents issued in December last year, he noted, calling on the Society's members to further enhance their sense of responsibility and urgency in promoting the implementation of the plan and making solid efforts to carry out relevant work. 

He urged the Society's members to improve their ability for performing their duties, making steady headway in research and survey, and special democratic supervision work, so as to write a new chapter of multi-party cooperation on the new journey of building a strong country and achieving national rejuvenation.

Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-chairman of the Jiusan Society Central Committee, attended the meeting and gave a briefing on the implementation plan for the disciplinary education of the Society's members.
