On May 21, Prime Minister and leader of the Labor Party of Norway Jonas Gahr Store met in Oslo with Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Shi said that under the strategic guidance of leaders of the two countries, China-Norway relations have maintained steady development. China appreciates Norway's adherence to the one-China policy and its pragmatic and friendly policy towards China. Noting that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway, he said that China is ready to take this opportunity to work with Norway to implement the key consensus reached between the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Chinese president's recent visit to Europe, and strengthen exchanges at all levels to enhance mutual political trust, promote beneficial cooperation in various fields, and create a better future for China-Norway relations.

The CPC is willing to strengthen inter-party exchanges with major political parties in Norway, including the Labor Party, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and consolidate the political foundation of the two countries' relations, he added.

Store hailed the positive development momentum of Norway-China relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries 70 years ago, which yielded fruitful cooperation results. He spoke highly of China's development achievements, reaffirmed Norway's adherence to the one-China policy, and expressed willingness to deepen exchanges between governments, political parties and civil societies in such fields as green transformation and climate change response, and to strengthen communication and dialogue on international and regional issues.

At the invitation of the Norwegian government, Shi led a CPC delegation to Norway from May 18 to 21. During the visit, he met respectively with Vice-President of the Norwegian parliament Storting Morten Wold and leader of the Conservative Party Erna Solberg, who is also a former prime minister of Norway.
