Mu Hong leads survey in Shanghai on promoting high-level opening-up

Mu Hong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team from the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee on a survey trip to Shanghai from May 14 to 17,in preparation for the CPPCC's upcoming consultation meeting on promoting high-level opening-up. 

The team visited the Shanghai Futures Exchange, the Lin-gang international data economy industrial park, and the Hongqiao import commodity exhibition and trading center, as well as multinational enterprises and tech companies in Yangpu, Xuhui, Minhang districts, Pudong New Area, and the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. They held meetings with local government officials, corporate representatives, and scientific research personnel. 

The team said that since the third plenary session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the CPC Central Committee has been advancing comprehensive reforms with unprecedented determination and strength, and has unwaveringly implemented a proactive opening-up strategy, leading to historic achievements and transformations of reform and opening-up in the new era. 

The team called on further efforts to advance pioneering reform and opening-up, implement the pilot free trade zone improvement strategies, steadily expand institutional opening-up on rules, regulations, management, and standards, and advance in-depth reform and high-quality development through high-level opening-up. 

The team stressed that the CPPCC should fully leverage its role as a specialized consultative body, engage in consultations and deliberations, and provide high-quality advice on major issues related to high-level opening-up, so as to contribute towards comprehensively deepening reform, expanding opening-up, and advancing the Chinese path to modernization.
