Jiusan Society holds 39th science symposium in Anhui

The Central Committee of the Jiusan Society held its 39th science symposium in Hefei, East China's Anhui province,on May 9, with the theme "frontiers and development strategy of quantum science and technology in China". Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. 

Shao said that the development of quantum technology has achieved remarkable progress, propelling the technology to the forefront of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation. As a political party with a majority of members being middle and senior levels intellectuals in science and technology, the Jiusan Society has long been committed to addressing cutting-edge scientific issues and providing suggestions and proposals to promote the development of quantum technology, he said. 

This symposium aims to thoroughly analyze and assess the global and domestic development trends in quantum technology, identify existing problems in China, propose suggestions and solutions from a sci-tech perspective, and explore advancing our country's quantum technology development through policy improvement, he added. 

Based on this symposium and related research work, the Jiusan Society will formulate targeted opinions and suggestions on this topic, contributing to establishing China’s new advantages in development. 

Prior to the symposium, Shao surveyed relevant local research institutes and enterprises. He also held a research seminar on strengthening the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents at universities.
